A very foxy first birthday party!

IMG_1259IMG_1254IMG_1253IMG_1266IMG_1269IMG_1275IMG_1281IMG_1282IMG_1277IMG_1290IMG_1296IMG_1298IMG_1304IMG_1309bwIMG_1319IMG_1320IMG_1330

I decided on a fox themed party because my mom sent Logan his birthday present in the mail a few weeks ago and when we opened the package there was the cutest fox pillow and then a fox beanie with some fox mittens inside. So it just dawned on me that we needed to do a fox party! Logan is born in the fall and foxes seem to be a very fall-like animal :) Not to mention I found this fox cake on pinterest and I knew that I wanted to copy it! I also got the fox cupcake idea off of pinterest but just sorta tweaked them and made them with wafer cookies for ears and real frosting instead of fondant. (because ew, fondant is gross! ;) I think mine turned out cuter anyway!

Making the cake and the cupcakes was probably the funnest thing for me. I remember thinking while making them Now this is what makes being a mom so fun!  I'm lucky to have two of the cutest munchkins to plan parties for!

I planned to have his party a whole week before his actual birthday because we're going out of town to visit Marie and her family for thanksgiving and I knew that once we got back it would be December already. And I knew once December hit, if I hadn't had a party for him it just wasn't going to happen! But skipping a FIRST birthday party would be so sad! So he will actually turn one on Sunday and I will probably post more pictures then too ;)

We had a few friends and Steve's family come for cake and ice cream. It wasn't too huge but our house isn't huge either so with all the kids running around it was a little crazy. Logan (and Cole too) loved it! Logan always wants to be in the middle of the action, even if they are much much bigger than him. When we sang him happy birthday, he was wide eyed, not sure what was going on. But when I gave him his cupcake, there was no hesitation. He devoured the entire thing! So unlike how Cole was when he turned one! (click here to see his first birthday monkey party post!)

Happy birthday Logan! How we love you SOSOSO much. I can't believe my baby is (almost) ONE!

And here's the invitation I put together and then just texted this image to people. I found the fox and mushroom icons free to download on pinterest so download them I did! It was super easy to put together and I thought it turned out cute :)

Long live fall♥

When I drove past this park right by the temple a couple weeks ago, I knew we just had to get out and take some pictures. The light was too pretty and the leaves were too yellow not to :) And somehow the stars aligned and everyone was up for it! Not only was it fun for me to snaps some pictures of my three boys but they also had a good time playing in the leaves. Makes for some fun memories.

I majorly lucked out with all three of those boys. Just sayin'. :) I love them all so much♥

11 months old!

IMG_0730IMG_0717IMG_0725IMG_0749IMG_0737IMG_0756IMG_0648bwIMG_0649bw

11 months old and he thinks he's a big kid! Seriously. He's practically running and keeps up with the big kids and wants to be playing with whatever they're playing with whenever Cole has friends over. He is so ready for nursery, the only probably is, we still have 7 months to go. Can we make it?! ;)

This is a busy boy who knows what he wants! In the past month he learned to clap! Finally! He finally figured it out while on our flight back to Washington from NYC. So cute :) He also learned how to throw little fits! It cracks me up a little bit, but he really knows what he wants and when he doesn't get it, well that's when the fit happens ;)

Logan and Cole's afternoon naps always overlap but since Logan goes down first, he always wakes up a little bit before Cole. So Logan and I play in his room while Cole finishes his nap, and when he finally wakes up, Logan is always so so excited to see his brother! I love it so much! It's one of the sweetest things. And sometimes Cole will stop while he's playing with Logan and say to me "Mom, Logan's a cuuuuuuutie!" Just like that. Ha. I love that they love each other.

I'm in the middle of planning Logan's one year party! Can you believe that! And it's fox themed :) Can't wait. But then again I can wait. Because honestly I can't believe my baby is almost one. I love you Logan, so so so much ♥

Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!

Lions and tigers and bears OH MY! Happy Halloween!!!🐻My cute crew tonight! Trick or treating was a hit!!

I've always loved Halloween! Coming up with a family themed costume might have something to do with it ;) I just have so much fun with it and this year was no different! Steve has informed me that he is not a big fan of dressing up after all (what!!) and so my job was to come up with something where he wouldn't really have to dress up and when I saw this idea on pinterest, I knew that it didn't get much better. I made Cole's bear face and Logan's mane Halloween afternoon (super easy!) and then that evening we went to some of our friends for dinner and from their house went trick or treating! It was Cole's first time, really. In the past he's only ever done trunk or treating which isn't even the real deal. This time he had a blast and we're lucky to be living in a place that is super safe and super family friendly. There were SO many kids out trick or treating! It was a lot of fun!

I think you either love Halloween or you hate it. I definitely love it :) The only thing is now we have enough candy in our house to last for the rest of Cole's life time and it's bad news (for his parents, not him;)
