Happy 4th of July!

Back in April when I visited Emma in Utah, we decided that we were all going to meet up in Spokane over 4th of July weekend as our sisters trip. Spokane seemed about as central as it could get; Emma would drive up from Utah and pick Lissie up at BYU-I on her way and Marie would drive over from Seattle. But then Emma suddenly moved to NYC and this little trip to Washington wasn't so little for her anymore. And Lissie no longer had a ride and so it was just me and Marie. I was excited that at least Marie could come (although we missed the rest of them a lot!) and a few days before Marie came, she called and asked if her whole family could come since it wasn't turning out to be a sisters trip anymore anyway. I was so excited for Marie's whole family to come! I knew that Cole would have so much fun with his cousins and I was right!

They got here Thursday evening and stayed til Monday morning and it was a perfect 4th of July weekend. We joked that they would make it a tradition and come to see us every 4th of July! We went to the splash pad, the fireworks show and the farmer's market and all those places are really close to our new house and within walking distance! Marie, Bella and I also went on two big shopping sprees on Friday and Saturday afternoon. (Just fyi, way more stores are open on the 4th than you would think and they have huge sales! It was a blast :)

We also had Steve make us yummy pancakes in the mornings and cowboy burgers on Saturday evening. And we made a camp fire and roasted s'mores! On Sunday we did a double photoshoot of our families which was a little bit crazy, but still a good experience ;)

Seven months old!

My beautiful boy is seven months old. Sometimes I look at him and wonder how I got such a beautiful little thing?

Seven months has been kind of big for him! He finally started crawling on his hands and knees (he's pretty fast at it too!)and once he started that he almost immediately after started pulling himself up on everything! And now he even can balance on his two feet without holding on to anything for a couple of seconds straight! It's so wild to me because after watching some old videos of Cole when he was this age, I realized that Cole pretty much didn't move at all when he was seven months old. Ha! Every baby is so different!

Logan is a very happy baby! Lots of people comment on it because if almost anyone looks at him and talks to him he will almost always smile back. He loves to be talked to! He also loves to be around other kids!

This month I've started to notice that Logan actually does have very long, very thick and very curly eyelashes! It makes me giddy just thinking about it; it is so dang cute! They're just not as easy to see since they're blonde but still. So cute ;) His hair has also gotten a little bit curly on the sides! Eeek!! I might just have a blondie with curly hair!! How adorable would that be?! And if that were really the case, I don't think I would ever be able to bring myself to cut it. Ever. (Ok Steve? Never!) haha :)

This month Logan has also gotten very vocal. When he gets excited he squeals and screams (he does that when he's mad too;) and he thinks big brother is pretty much hilarious. He also likes to flail is arms in front of him when he's excited. I love it :)

I love this beautiful boy so much and thank God for letting him be a part of our family every day. Happy seven months to my sweet boy!

Summer bucket list 2014

I was inspired by my friend Stefani to make a bucket list for this summer! To me, summers in Spokane are pretty much heaven and there's a million things to do here so I feel like we really need to live it up. The days will only be long and hot for so long and then winter will be long and cold. So here it is! Our little bucket list! It's not super long because I was trying to keep it realistic. I even went over everything with Steve already so we should get all of this in within the next couple months. I'm excited!

Who's that baby in the mirror?!

This is sure to put a smile on anyone's face :) What I love about this is that he doesn't know that he's looking at himself; I'm pretty sure he thinks he's looking at another little baby staring back at him and he gets so excited! He's such a happy, social little thing. Love this baby boy so much.

It's summertime!

A few weeks ago I took Cole to the playground and it was in the low 80s. For us, that's really not hot at all, but for the rest of Spokane this means summertime! The kids at the playground kept saying "It's so hot!" and Cole would always reply "No, it's not! It's not hot!" (He's gotten a little bossy recently.) Because coming from Dallas, it's really not if you can still play outside ;)

Now that Memorial Day has come and gone, we are ready for summer. And so far, spring/summer is pretty much heaven here in Spokane. We are absolutely loving it. Now we're just ready for it to get hot enough to actually go swimming. I hear that won't happen til the 4th of July, which is fine; we'll take that.

Six months!

Half a year old. It's hard to believe that it's been six months already. But then again, I can't quite remember life without him. He was always supposed to be a part of our family. And I'm so glad that he is.

At six months Logan is a champ at army crawling, and he's super fast at it! For these pictures, I set him at one end of the bed and he army crawled across the bed to get me (and let's be honest, my camera too;) before I was hardly able to get any decent shots of him!

He is always super smiley and loves his own reflection.

He has started making sounds, namely a very aspirated "ta ta ta" and of course I think it's the cutest thing ever.

He's very fascinated with his big brother and I'm pretty sure he wishes he could run around with him. He's still not crawling on his knees yet. Sometime he'll get up on his knees and sway a bit but if he wants to actually get somewhere he goes right back to his belly ;)

I also just barely started sleeping him in his crib....I know....And what do you know, I'm pretty sure he sleeps a whole let better in that thing. Can't say I regret ever having him sleep in bed with us though, I just sleep so much better when I can feel him breathing next to me. So, yeah it's probably been more of an adjustment for me ;)

I looooove this beautiful boy and I thank God for letting me have him every day ♥
